ABOUT US    

    Swygert & Associates Consulting Engineers (dba Swygert & Associates, Ltd.) was founded in 1977 by Harold B. Swygert, P.E.  The company was formed when the Architectural and Engineering firm of Lyles, Bissett, Carlisle and Wolff decided to move their offices to Alexandria, Virginia.  Harold first established the firm as Harold Swygert & Associates, providing professional mechanical design services for commercial, institutional, and industrial clients in the fields of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.  In 1986, Mike Crowder, P.E. joined the firm and in 1988 it became known as Swygert-Crowder Consulting Engineers (dba Swygert & Associates, Ltd.)  In 2003, the firm changed its name to the current Swygert & Associates Consulting Engineers.  

Some of the more prominent projects that the firm has been involved with include Lexington Baptist Church (Lexington), Riverland Hills Baptist Church (In construction), Municipal Association of South Carolina Building (Columbia), Strom Thurmond Fitness and Wellness Center (University of South Carolina), Orangeburg Municipal Complex (Orangeburg), Johnstone Hall Dormitory Renovation (Clemson University), South Campus Housing Phase II (University of South Carolina), Blythewood High School (Blythewood), Dreher High School (Columbia). 

Continuing satisfied clients of the firm include state agencies such as the University of South Carolina, South Carolina Department of General Services, South Carolina Department of Corrections, South Carolina Department of Mental Health, South Carolina Army National Guard, as well as numerous architectural firms. 

Swygert & Associates Consulting Engineers currently is associated with numerous organizations to further the expertise of its employees and continue company advancement.  These include the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE), and the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
